Job Placements for Summer Jobs at Y.O.U.

How many and what sort of tasks are there?

The number of jobs depends upon offered funding and on the company partners who have registered to be worksites.

Y.O.U. deals with numerous employers and worksites throughout the County each summer to host youths.

The most common summer season tasks are within the career clusters of hospitality & tourist such as custodial, food service, and occasions or human services with positions like junior camp therapist, leisure aid and nonprofit assistance.

Most are with non-profit organizations, cities, schools, and retail businesses in The Greater Cleveland location.

Our worksites need standard entry-level skills. Examples of tasks are clerical, light cleaning, painting, gardening, computer input, filing, and answering telephones.

To be thought about for any job, you still need to use and complete the eligibility determination process.

However, using does not ensure you a job. There will be much more candidates than there are tasks.

Just how much does it pay?

The rate of pay is $13.50 per hour and will have chance to work in between 20 and 25 hours weekly.

Do I earn money for vacations?

No. We ask our employer partner worksites not to arrange youth individuals on Holidays.

Youth will only be spent for the hours in fact worked.

Will there be a background check or a drug test?

Some work tasks might require one or both. Y.O.U. or the company will cover the cost.

You will understand whether this is needed at Orientation or previously.

How will I know whether I have a job?

Applicants who are chosen to go to an eligibility determination appointment will speak with Y.O.U. in between April and May. A parent/guardian must attend this consultation and complete the documents to be arranged for an orientation.

Exists a waiting list for tasks?

Yes. If there are more qualified youth than the variety of offered jobs or financing, your name might go on a waiting list.

As more tasks and/or financing end up being available, qualified waiting list youth will be randomly selected based on either the requirements of extra financing or on proximity to new worksites.

Do I still need to complete orientation if I am on the waiting list?

Yes. The schedule of extra tasks and/or funding typically occurs quickly. To ensure that you are prepared for work at a minute's notice, you should complete your scheduled orientation.

Remember, each youth must successfully complete each of the following actions to be considered for the Summer Youth Employment Program:
